Open Control Center
Swipe down from the top-right corner on iPhone with Face ID
Swipe up from the bottom edge on iPhone with a Home button
Drag the brightness slider up to increase brightness
Drag the brightness slider down to decrease brightness
Open Settings
Tap Display & Brightness
Move the Brightness slider left or right to adjust brightness
Turn on Auto-Brightness in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size if needed
