Cut shelves and side panels to size

Install wall cleats or support brackets
Secure vertical supports to studs
Attach the first shelf level
Check for level and plumb
Install remaining shelves
Add back panels if desired
Fill screw holes and touch up finish
Secure the top and side edges
Install trim or molding
Anchor the bookshelf wall to the studs
Load books and decor gradually
Check stability after loading
Adjust shelf spacing if needed
