How To Check Your Blood Pressure?

Rest for 5 minutes before measuring

Avoid caffeine, exercise, smoking, and alcohol for 30 minutes before checking

Sit upright with your back supported

Keep both feet flat on the floor

Rest your arm on a table at heart level

Use an appropriately sized blood pressure cuff

Place the cuff on bare skin, not over clothing

Wrap the cuff snugly around your upper arm

Stay still and do not talk during the reading

Turn on the monitor and follow the device instructions

Take two readings, 1 minute apart

Record the results with the date and time

Check at the same time each day if monitoring regularly

Bring your readings to your healthcare provider if needed
