Open Safari on your iPad
Tap the Tabs button in the top-right corner
Press and hold the Done button to close all tabs
Tap the X on a tab to close it individually
Swipe a tab left to close it
To close tabs in another browser, open the tab overview and close them one by one
To close all tabs in Safari, tap and hold the Tabs button and choose Close All Tabs
