Wash the watermelon under cool running water
Pat it dry
Place it on a stable cutting board
Cut the watermelon in half lengthwise
Cut each half into quarters
Cut each quarter into wedges or bite-size chunks
Trim off the rind as you cut, or slice off strips of rind first and then cube
Remove any seeds if desired by cutting around them or scooping
Serve immediately or refrigerate in a covered container
