Use warm water
Tilt your head to the side
Gently pull the outer ear up and back
Use a bulb syringe to slowly flush the ear canal
Let the water drain out
Repeat if needed
Dry the outer ear with a clean towel
Use over-the-counter ear drops if recommended
Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or hearing loss
Avoid flushing if you have a perforated eardrum, ear infection, or ear tubes
