How to Grow from Peach Pit?

Remove the pit from a ripe peach and clean off all fruit flesh

Let the pit dry for a few days

Crack open the hard outer shell carefully to extract the seed inside

Place the seed in a damp paper towel or moist peat moss

Seal it in a plastic bag or container

Refrigerate it for 8 to 12 weeks for cold stratification

Check periodically to keep it slightly moist, not wet

Plant the seed in a pot with well-draining soil after stratification

Set the seed about 1 to 2 inches deep

Keep the soil moist and place the pot in a warm, sunny location

Transplant the seedling outdoors after the last frost

Choose a site with full sun and well-drained soil

Space the tree properly for mature growth

Water regularly during the first growing season

Protect the young tree from pests, frost, and animals
