Remove seeds from a ripe orange
Rinse seeds to remove pulp
Soak seeds in water for 12 to 24 hours
Fill a small pot with moist, well-draining potting mix
Plant seeds about 1/2 inch deep
Cover lightly with soil
Water gently to keep soil evenly moist
Place the pot in a warm, bright location
Keep the soil warm, around 70 to 85°F
Cover the pot with plastic wrap or a humidity dome if needed
Check daily for moisture and mold
Remove the cover once seedlings emerge
Wait for sprouts to appear in 2 to 6 weeks
Move seedlings to larger pots when they develop several leaves
Use a sunny spot with at least 6 to 8 hours of light
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry
Fertilize lightly after seedlings are established
Harden off plants before moving outdoors
Plant outdoors only in frost-free conditions
Choose a sheltered, sunny location with well-draining soil
Protect young plants from cold temperatures
