Preheat the grill to medium-high heat
Peel back the husks if using husked corn
Remove the silk from the corn
Soak the corn in water for 10 to 15 minutes if grilling in husks
Brush the corn with oil or melted butter if grilling without husks
Season with salt and pepper if desired
Place the corn directly on the grill grates or in the husks
Turn the corn every 2 to 3 minutes
Grill for 10 to 15 minutes total, until lightly charred and tender
Remove from the grill
Add more butter, salt, or seasonings if desired
