1 lb crab meat, picked over for shells
1/2 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning or similar seafood seasoning
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp butter or oil for cooking
Gently mix crab meat, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning, salt, and pepper
Form the mixture into patties
Chill the patties for 15 to 30 minutes
Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat
Cook crab cakes for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown
Serve warm with lemon wedges or tartar sauce
