Slice cucumbers into spears or rounds
Pack cucumbers into a clean jar or container
Add garlic, dill, and optional spices
Combine vinegar, water, salt, and sugar in a bowl
Stir until salt and sugar dissolve
Pour brine over cucumbers until fully covered
Seal the container
Refrigerate for at least 24 hours
Wait 2 to 3 days for best flavor
Store in the refrigerator and use within 2 to 4 weeks
