Inspect the tire to confirm the puncture is in the tread area, not the sidewall
Remove the object causing the leak if it is still embedded
Mark the puncture location
Use pliers or a reamer to clean and widen the puncture hole
Thread a plug strip into the insertion tool
Coat the plug strip with rubber cement if included with the kit
Push the insertion tool into the puncture until only a small amount of plug remains outside
Pull the tool straight out, leaving the plug in place
Trim excess plug material flush with the tread
Reinflate the tire to the recommended pressure
Check for leaks with soapy water
Recheck tire pressure after a short drive
Replace the tire if the puncture is in the sidewall, too large, or the tire is damaged beyond repair
