How to Recover an Excel Sheet?

Open Excel and go to File

Click Open

Select Recent or This PC

Click Recover Unsaved Workbooks

Choose the file you want to restore

Click Open

Save the recovered file immediately

Check the AutoRecover folder

Search for temporary Excel files with .tmp or .xlsb extensions

Use File > Info > Manage Workbook

Select Recover Unsaved Workbooks if available

Restore from OneDrive or SharePoint version history

Right-click the file and choose Version History

Open a previous version

Save it as a new file

Check the Recycle Bin or Trash

Restore the deleted Excel file if found

Use Excel’s Document Recovery pane if it appears

Open the latest recovered version

Repair the workbook using Open and Repair

Go to File > Open

Select the damaged file

Click the arrow next to Open

Choose Open and Repair

Select Repair

If Repair fails, choose Extract Data

Restore from a backup copy

Check cloud backup or local backup software

Reopen Excel after a crash to trigger recovery

Enable AutoRecover for future protection

Set a shorter AutoRecover interval in Excel options

Save work frequently with Ctrl+S
