Turn off the water supply
Close the sink drain
Locate the handle set screw
Remove the decorative cap if present
Use the correct Allen wrench or screwdriver
Loosen and remove the set screw
Pull the handle straight off
Remove the trim sleeve if needed
Inspect for additional retaining parts
Keep all parts together for reassembly
