Turn off and unplug the drill, or remove the battery
Hold the drill firmly
Open the chuck by turning it counterclockwise if it is keyless
Insert the chuck key into the chuck holes and turn it counterclockwise if it uses a key
Keep turning until the drill bit loosens
Pull the drill bit straight out
Tighten the chuck again after removing the bit
Check that the bit is fully removed before storing the drill
