Gargle warm salt water (1/2–1 tsp salt in a cup of warm water) 2–4 times daily
Use a water flosser on a low/soft setting directed at the tonsil area
Gently remove visible tonsil stones with a cotton swab after gargling
Use a clean soft toothbrush to lightly brush the tonsil surface
Stay hydrated and drink water regularly
Practice good oral hygiene: brush teeth and tongue twice daily
Floss daily to reduce food debris
Use an alcohol-free antiseptic mouthwash if recommended by your dentist/ENT
Manage post-nasal drip/allergies (saline nasal rinses, allergy treatment as advised)
Avoid smoking and alcohol-based mouthwashes if they worsen dryness
See an ENT if stones are frequent, large, painful, or associated with bad breath despite home care
Seek urgent care if you have trouble swallowing, breathing difficulty, fever, severe one-sided throat pain, or rapidly worsening symptoms
