Turn off the ignition and park the wipers in the off position
Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield
Locate the retaining cap or cover at the base of the wiper arm
Remove the cap or cover if present
Loosen and remove the retaining nut
Mark the wiper arm position on the windshield if needed
Wiggle the wiper arm gently to break it free from the splined shaft
Pull the wiper arm straight off the shaft
Use a wiper arm puller if the arm is stuck
Avoid prying against the windshield or hood
Reinstall by aligning the arm on the shaft and tightening the nut securely
