Park the vehicle on a flat surface and turn off the engine
Set the parking brake
Open the trunk, hood, or access panel to reach the brake light assembly
Remove the bulb cover or lens if needed
Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise or release the retaining clip
Pull out the old brake bulb
Insert the new bulb of the correct type
Reinstall the bulb socket or retaining clip
Refit the bulb cover or lens
Test the brake lights by pressing the brake pedal
Close the trunk, hood, or access panel
