Check that the A/C system is low on refrigerant before recharging
Identify the correct refrigerant type for your vehicle
Gather the proper recharge kit, gloves, and safety glasses
Start the engine and turn the A/C to maximum cold
Set the blower to the highest speed
Open the hood and locate the low-pressure service port
Attach the recharge hose to the low-pressure port
Shake the refrigerant can if required by the product instructions
Hold the can upright or as directed on the label
Add refrigerant slowly while monitoring the pressure gauge
Stop when the gauge reaches the recommended range
Avoid overcharging the system
Disconnect the hose from the service port
Replace the port cap securely
Check that the A/C is blowing cold air
Inspect for leaks if the system still does not cool properly
Seek professional service if the system needs frequent recharging
