Choose certified seed potatoes
Select a sunny, well-drained planting site
Prepare loose, fertile soil
Cut large seed potatoes into pieces with at least one or two eyes each
Let cut pieces dry and callus for 1 to 2 days
Plant seed pieces 3 to 4 inches deep
Space pieces 12 inches apart in rows 2 to 3 feet apart
Cover with soil and water lightly
Hill soil around plants as they grow
Keep soil evenly moist
Harvest when plants yellow and die back
