Press and hold the test/silence button for 10–15 seconds
Check for a backup battery compartment and replace the battery if present
Turn off power to the alarm at the circuit breaker
Remove the alarm from the mounting bracket
Disconnect the alarm from the wiring harness if it is hardwired
Clean the alarm with a vacuum or soft brush to remove dust
Reset the alarm by holding the test button after reconnecting power
Replace the alarm if the beeping continues
