Trim the acrylic nails as short as possible
File the top layer of the acrylic to remove the shine
Protect the skin around your nails with petroleum jelly
Soak cotton balls in acetone
Place the soaked cotton balls on each nail
Wrap each fingertip tightly with aluminum foil
Leave the nails wrapped for 20 to 30 minutes
Check one nail to see if the acrylic has softened
Gently push off the softened acrylic with a cuticle pusher or orange stick
Rewrap and soak again if the acrylic is still hard
Buff away any remaining residue
Wash your hands and apply cuticle oil or moisturizer
