How to Remove Acrylic Nails at Home with Acetone?

Gather acetone, cotton balls or pads, aluminum foil, nail file, nail clippers, cuticle oil, and petroleum jelly

Trim the acrylic nails as short as possible

File the top layer of the acrylic nails to remove the shiny finish

Apply petroleum jelly to the skin around your nails

Soak cotton balls or pads in acetone

Place the soaked cotton on each nail

Wrap each fingertip tightly with aluminum foil

Leave the nails wrapped for 20 to 30 minutes

Check one nail to see if the acrylic has softened

Gently push off the loosened acrylic with a cuticle pusher or orange stick

Rewrap any nails that are still hard and soak for a few more minutes

Buff away remaining residue with a nail buffer

Wash your hands thoroughly

Apply cuticle oil or hand cream to rehydrate your nails and skin
