Check the vehicle’s tire placard on the driver’s door jamb, glove box, or fuel door
Use the tire pressure listed in the owner’s manual if the placard is missing
Ignore the maximum pressure printed on the tire sidewall for normal inflation
Measure pressure when tires are cold
Use a reliable tire pressure gauge
Inflate to the recommended PSI, not by visual appearance
Check all tires, including the spare if applicable
Recheck pressure after driving or temperature changes
Adjust for load or towing only if the manufacturer specifies different pressures
Keep tires at the recommended pressure for safety, handling, and tire life
