How to Grow Avocados?

Choose a warm, frost-free location with full sun

Plant in well-draining soil

Use a healthy grafted avocado tree for faster fruiting

Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and no deeper than the root ball

Place the tree so the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface

Backfill with native soil and gently firm it

Water deeply after planting

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged

Mulch around the tree, keeping mulch away from the trunk

Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season

Protect young trees from strong wind and frost

Prune lightly to shape the tree and remove dead branches

Avoid overwatering and poor drainage

Plant more than one avocado variety if better pollination is desired

Harvest fruit when mature and allow it to ripen off the tree
