Turn off power at the circuit breaker
Verify the power is off with a voltage tester
Remove the old fixture
Disconnect the wires
Inspect the electrical box and wiring
Attach the mounting bracket for the new fixture
Connect the wires: black to black, white to white, ground to ground
Secure wire connections with wire nuts
Tuck wires into the electrical box
Attach the new fixture to the mounting bracket
Install bulbs if required
Attach the fixture cover or shade
Restore power at the breaker
Test the light fixture
