Align the lock’s reset point or indicator to the starting position
Turn the dial clockwise to the first number, stopping exactly on it
Turn the dial counterclockwise past the first number once, then stop on the second number
Turn the dial clockwise directly to the third number
Pull up or open the shackle or latch
If it does not open, repeat the sequence carefully and make sure each number is centered exactly
