Turn the dial clockwise at least 3 full turns to clear the lock
Stop on the first number of the combination
Turn the dial counterclockwise one full turn, passing the first number once, then stop on the second number
Turn the dial clockwise directly to the third number
Pull up on the shackle to open the padlock
If the lock does not open, repeat the sequence carefully and align each number exactly at the center mark
