If you know the current combination, open the lock first
Set the dials to the current combination
Press or slide the reset button, lever, or pin according to the lock design
Turn the dials to your new combination
Release the reset button, lever, or pin
Scramble the dials and test the new combination
If you forgot the combination, try the factory default such as 000 or 0000
Inspect the lock for a small reset hole or hidden release mechanism
Use the serial number and manufacturer instructions if available
Contact the luggage or lock manufacturer for recovery instructions
Visit a locksmith or luggage repair shop for assistance
If the lock cannot be reset, replace the lock or luggage lock assembly
