Open the padlock using the current combination or key
Locate the reset mechanism, button, lever, or shackle position required by the lock
Move the shackle to the reset position if needed
Press and hold the reset button or rotate the shackle as instructed by the lock
Set the dials to the new combination
Release the reset mechanism or return the shackle to the locked position
Scramble the dials to confirm the new combination is set
Test the new combination before using the padlock
