Disconnect the battery
Drain the coolant
Remove the engine cover if equipped
Remove the drive belt
Remove any components blocking access to the water pump
Disconnect hoses or electrical connectors attached to the water pump
Remove the water pump mounting bolts
Remove the old water pump
Clean the mounting surface
Install the new water pump with a new gasket or seal
Tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque
Reconnect hoses and electrical connectors
Reinstall removed components
Reinstall the drive belt
Refill the cooling system with coolant
Reconnect the battery
Start the engine and check for leaks
Verify proper coolant level and engine temperature
