Choose a blender
Gather ingredients: fruit, liquid, and optional add-ins
Add liquid first (water, milk, yogurt, or juice)
Add fruit next (fresh or frozen)
Add optional add-ins (protein powder, nut butter, oats, chia/flax, spinach, sweetener)
Blend on low, then increase to high
Stop and scrape down the sides if needed
Blend until smooth and thick enough
Adjust consistency by adding more liquid (thinner) or more fruit/ice (thicker)
Taste and adjust sweetness if needed
Pour into a glass and serve immediately
Clean the blender right away
