How To Eat Artichoke?

Rinse the artichoke under cold water

Trim the stem if needed

Cut off the top inch of the artichoke if desired

Snip the sharp tips of the outer leaves if desired

Steam, boil, roast, or microwave until tender

Let it cool slightly

Pull off one outer leaf at a time

Place the base of the leaf in your mouth

Scrape the soft flesh off with your teeth

Discard the remaining leaf

Continue with the inner leaves

Remove the fuzzy choke from the center if present

Eat the tender heart at the base

Dip leaves or heart in butter, mayonnaise, aioli, or sauce if desired
