Measure the roof and calculate the amount of metal roofing, underlayment, flashing, fasteners, and trim needed
Inspect the roof deck and replace any damaged or rotten sheathing
Remove old roofing if required by the project
Install drip edge along the eaves and rake edges
Lay down roofing underlayment according to manufacturer instructions
Snap chalk lines to keep panels straight
Install starter trim or closure strips where required
Place the first metal panel squarely at the roof edge
Fasten the panel with the correct screws or clips at the recommended spacing
Overlap and secure each additional panel according to the panel profile and manufacturer instructions
Cut panels to fit valleys, ridges, vents, and edges using appropriate metal-cutting tools
Install flashing around chimneys, skylights, walls, and other penetrations
Install ridge cap and closure strips at the peak
Seal exposed fasteners, seams, and flashing as required
Check all panels, fasteners, and trim for proper alignment and tightness
Clean the roof surface and remove metal shavings and debris
Inspect the finished installation for leaks, gaps, and loose components
