Preheat the grill to medium heat
Oil the grill grates lightly
Place frozen burger patties directly on the grill
Close the lid
Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes
Flip the patties
Season the cooked side with salt and pepper
Close the lid again
Cook for another 5 to 7 minutes
Flip again if needed for even cooking
Cook until the internal temperature reaches 160°F
Add cheese during the last 1 to 2 minutes if desired
Toast buns on the grill if desired
Remove the burgers from the grill
Let rest for 2 to 3 minutes
Serve immediately
