How to Smoke Burgers?

Preheat your smoker to 225–250°F

Use ground beef with 80/20 fat content

Form patties about 3/4 to 1 inch thick

Make a small dimple in the center of each patty

Season both sides with salt and pepper or your preferred rub

Place patties directly on the smoker grate

Smoke until the internal temperature reaches 130–135°F for medium-rare or 140–145°F for medium

Add cheese during the last 5 minutes if desired

Optional: sear the burgers over high heat for 1–2 minutes per side after smoking

Rest the burgers for 5 minutes before serving

Serve on buns with your preferred toppings
