How to Cook Wild Rice on the Stove?

Rinse 1 cup wild rice under cold water

Add the rice to a pot with 3 to 4 cups water or broth

Bring to a boil over high heat

Reduce heat to low and cover the pot

Simmer for 40 to 60 minutes, until the grains split open and become tender

Check occasionally and add more water if needed

Drain any excess liquid when done

Fluff with a fork before serving
