Select the text or item
Press Command (⌘) + C to copy
Move the cursor to where you want to paste
Press Command (⌘) + V to paste
To cut instead of copy, press Command (⌘) + X
To paste without formatting, paste with Command (⌘) + Shift + V (if supported by the app)
To copy/paste using the menu, use Edit → Copy / Paste
