Unplug the coffee maker and let it cool
Empty the carafe and remove any used coffee grounds or filter
Fill the water reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and water
Place the empty carafe on the warming plate
Start a brew cycle and let it run halfway
Turn off the coffee maker and let the solution sit for 15 to 30 minutes
Turn the coffee maker back on and finish the brew cycle
Discard the vinegar solution from the carafe
Run two to three full brew cycles with clean water
Empty and rinse the carafe and filter basket
Wipe the exterior and any removable parts dry
