Start with a square sheet of paper
Fold it diagonally in half both ways
Fold it in half vertically and horizontally
Collapse the paper into a smaller square base
Fold the top layer’s side edges to the center line
Fold the top point down
Unfold the last three folds
Lift the bottom point up and flatten to form a long diamond shape
Repeat on the other side
Fold the outer edges of the top layer to the center line
Fold the top point down again
Unfold the last three folds
Lift the bottom point up and flatten to form a long diamond shape
Repeat on the other side
Fold the outer edges inward on both sides to make narrow legs
Fold one leg upward to make the head
Fold the tip of the head down to form the beak
Pull the wings down gently
Shape the neck, tail, and wings as needed
