How to Make Homemade Jelly?

Gather fruit juice, sugar, pectin, lemon juice, a pot, a spoon, jars, and lids

Wash and sterilize the jars and lids

Measure the fruit juice

Combine the juice and pectin in a pot

Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium-high heat

Add the sugar all at once

Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves

Return to a full rolling boil

Boil for the time specified by the pectin package

Remove from heat

Skim off any foam

Pour the hot jelly into prepared jars

Leave a small amount of headspace

Wipe the jar rims clean

Seal with lids

Process the jars in a boiling water bath if needed

Let the jars cool completely

Check that the lids have sealed

Store in a cool, dark place
