How to Make Homemade Kettle Corn?

Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat

Add 3 popcorn kernels and cover the pot

When the test kernels pop, add 1/2 cup popcorn kernels and 1/4 cup sugar

Cover the pot and shake it gently every few seconds

Keep the lid slightly ajar to let steam escape

Remove the pot from heat when popping slows to 2 to 3 seconds between pops

Immediately pour the popcorn into a large bowl

Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt

Toss well to coat evenly

Let cool before serving
