Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C)
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs
Pat the ribs dry with paper towels
Season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and brown sugar
Place the ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet or in a roasting pan
Cover tightly with foil
Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender
Remove from the oven and discard excess fat or liquid
Brush the ribs with barbecue sauce
Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) or switch to broil
Return the ribs uncovered and cook for 5 to 10 minutes until the sauce is caramelized
Rest the ribs for 5 to 10 minutes
Slice between the bones and serve
