How to Prepare Black Rice?

Rinse the black rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear

Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes to 1 hour if desired

Drain the rice

Add 1 part black rice to 2 parts water in a pot

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot

Simmer for 30 to 40 minutes until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender

Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 to 10 minutes

Fluff with a fork before serving
