How To Cook Rice Without Cooker?

Rinse the rice 2–3 times until the water runs mostly clear

Measure rice and water

Use 1 cup rice with 1.5 to 2 cups water for most white rice

Use 1 cup rice with 2.5 to 3 cups water for brown rice

Put rice and water in a pot

Add a pinch of salt if desired

Place the pot on medium-high heat

Bring the water to a boil

Stir once, then reduce heat to low

Cover the pot with a tight lid

Let white rice cook for 12–15 minutes

Let brown rice cook for 35–45 minutes

Check if the water is absorbed

Turn off the heat

Keep the lid on and let the rice rest for 5–10 minutes

Fluff the rice with a fork

Serve immediately
