Score the top edge of the baseboard with a utility knife
Locate and remove any visible nails or screws
Insert a putty knife behind the top edge to protect the wall
Slide a pry bar or trim puller behind the baseboard
Pry gently at a stud location
Move along the board and lift it a little at a time
Use a wider pry block or wood shim to reduce wall damage
Pull the baseboard away once it loosens
Remove remaining nails from the back of the trim
Label each piece if you plan to reinstall it
Patch nail holes and repair wall damage after removal
