Turn off the ignition and remove the key
Put on safety gloves and eye protection
Open the hood and locate the battery
Identify the positive terminal marked with a plus sign
Identify the negative terminal marked with a minus sign
Clean the battery terminals if needed
Connect the positive cable to the positive terminal first
Tighten the positive terminal clamp securely
Connect the negative cable to the negative terminal second
Tighten the negative terminal clamp securely
Check that both connections are firm
Close the hood
Start the car to confirm it powers on properly
