Park on a flat, stable surface
Engage the parking brake
Put the vehicle in park or in gear
Place wheel chocks on the opposite wheels
Loosen the lug nuts slightly before lifting
Position a jack at the correct lift point
Raise the vehicle until the tire is off the ground
Place jack stands under the vehicle
Lower the vehicle onto the jack stands
Remove the lug nuts completely
Pull the tire straight off the hub
Set the tire aside safely
