Crack the egg gently over a bowl
Hold the yolk in one half of the shell and let the white fall into the bowl
Pass the yolk back and forth between the shell halves until the white is separated
Alternatively, crack the egg into your hand and let the white slip through your fingers
Use an egg separator tool and pour the egg into it so the white drains away
Place a clean plastic bottle over the yolk and gently squeeze to suction it up
Transfer the yolk to a separate bowl once the white is removed
