Move the oven rack to the recommended broiler position, usually near the top
Turn the oven to Broil or Broiler mode
Preheat the broiler for a few minutes if your oven requires it
Place food on a broiler-safe pan or baking sheet
Put the food on the top rack or broiler pan
Keep the oven door slightly open if your oven manual allows it
Watch the food closely while broiling
Flip or rotate the food as needed for even cooking
Remove the food when it reaches the desired doneness
Use oven mitts to take out the hot pan
Turn off the broiler after use
Let the oven and pan cool before cleaning
